thank you

Oh, found it. It is just using 'balance' as a keyword 😅

danimal
1:16:54

Think of it as a program that lives on the DAG in perpituity that will always execute the code it was programmed to do when called.

Nёsp
1:31:53

so basically its like ethereum DAPPS?

Cool update

Angel
1:33:12

Yes

Jorge
1:55:30

And less bug prone

Angel
2:5:45

Also looks like there is not a way to make a provably fair lottery since all the data has to be publically available on chain

Angel
2:6:53

Solidity seems to have a way to do it since there are some dice games (I have never used solidity though)

Punqtured
2:13:13

The easy way would be to look at the last hash of the BTC blockchain and use that for pseudo-randomly selecting a value. If you know the BTC hash in advance, you would be quite lucky 😉

Punqtured
2:13:35

There is an Oracle posting last known hash of BTC

Punqtured
2:13:51

But of course it would work only ince

Punqtured
2:13:54

Once

Punqtured
2:14:20

Otherwise you would have to always apply "next hash"

Angel
2:14:50

Well, that would not be a true DAPP since the BTC hash oracle could post a false hash or a BTC miner could theorethically check if he won my lottery before broadcasting an already mined block and reject it if he lost

Angel
2:15:14

Also the oracle could get offline and stop posting hashes

Vitek
4:11:38

I'm not concerned about TPS. I'm concerned about sabotage. 1 TB will kill the network. Only a hard fork could fix it then.

Rogier
4:13:43

how about pruning, checkpoints, perhaps with a zero knowledge cryptographic proof that a valid full tx history exists leading in the current dataset, without actually needing the entire history data

Greg Bolte
4:15:8

cool, up to 22.4GB

Greg Bolte
4:15:36

kinda surprised its not more

Vitek
4:22:17

Sure. There are solutions but the network would go down if this would happen today.

Santiago
4:28:26

How could you post a transaction with that amount of data?

Santiago
4:29:9

Obviously you would need the ~20,000$ to pay the bytes for the fees, but how could you create such a monster? Assuming you have them

Punqtured
4:46:16

It would have to be scripted. A headless wallet just posting random data would be relatively easy (yet still rather expensive) to do. But as previously stated, the answer lies in sidechains. No hard forks needed.

Mr. X und der Websiteschund
4:47:9

I think this problem must have the highest priority. Almost all of the top100 richest adresses have >1TBhttps://hub.obytechina.org/Top100Richest.php

Punqtured
4:47:42

You would have an Autonomous agent on "each side" effectively allowing new full nodes to only contain the data there is from that position and onwards. So the solution basically already exist.

Vitek
7:36:46

Have you tried the "yes" command on linux? :D

Vitek
7:37:14

I guess you can just post a large text file

I want you to list OByte on Coinbase.

I thought we already were!

Only Bittrex, Upbit, and Bit-Z are listed as major exchanges.

Today is the day. 5 hours leftand we will mass buy a coin. The team is totally ready. The strategy will be the same as last pump. Our team had contact with various news channels. Once the initial pump is done (the buys of you guys) and outsiders see the coin going up, we will spread news via various news channels which make outsiders interested and slowly buy in on the coin.
📍Link : https://t.me/joinchat/AAAAAFJRX6QUcyXlyJkTdQThe helpers got hundreds of DM's about if this is going to be a rank pump or not. Like we stated in the Discord. The rank system is close to being ready. This means, that this pump it will still be free-for-all. Like last time everyone will receive the coin signal at the same time!

i wont say upbit and bit-z are major tho

If you oppose the weekly draw, you are probably happy with the announcement of the new Autononous Agents Developer Contest replacing every other week's draw? At least those Bytes goes to someone who contribute to the overall ecosystem instead of a random hodler

77777
4:31:38

there is no support in the wallet - this is nonsense

77777
4:33:52

I am an ordinary user as I have to ask for forums

Not forum. The support is on discord.

danimal

I'm here - I'm going to look at this now.

77777
4:35:41

support doesn't even have an email

I agree, makes sense to have one. I work at Obyte, would you mind if I PM'd you to see how I can help?

getting closer

Greg Bolte
6:8:25

for sure has slowed down

Punqtured
6:53:40

You can't really use the date as a reference. There have been points in time where network activity was really high, resulting in a lot of transactions within a short amount of time.

Punqtured
6:55:12

If you have a way to see the main chain index of the last transaction your wallet synced, that would be a better metric. Currently, it is at 4521544

Greg Bolte
6:57:5

ah, I hadnt put that connection together but it makes sense

Greg Bolte
6:59:7

so likely processing the same number of transactions per second or whatever that metric is but because there were more of them in a given day it appears slower

danimal
7:57:14

💯

Is it technically possible for Obyte to get faster, more TPS with code optimation, etc.?

Yes. Very likely. The focus have not been on TPS. Once, some optimisation were made briefly and the tps went from 15 to the current 30 tps.

Tao Zordo
15:46:42

Very cool! I have an interesting read for you. Can I post it here? A super fast blockchain, academical research from Australia.

Punqtured

Sure it's always interesting read how others solves consensus, network propagation, ledger management and access

The thing about permissioned ledgers is always, who issues permissions. And will network participants be able to influence the solution.

Punqtured
16:8:9

Most often, the entity issuing permission would effectively be the same as running a centralized database that they grant access to, instead of using distributed ledgers.

And he's gone. Mission accomplished.

Punqtured
16:15:33

No, he's still around.

👍

Tao Zordo

Hi, did someone want to buy my gbyte? I have around 0,05 GBYTE since it's to low to sell on exchange maybe someone interested to buy that? I prefer doge or eth for low fee
